Accessibility

International SEO & Digital Marketing Agency

AsSEOo is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or the technology used to access it. We are actively working to improve accessibility across all areas of our website and welcome feedback at any time.

1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

AsSEOo believes that everyone — regardless of disability, impairment, age, or the assistive technology they use — should be able to access information about our services, read our blog content, submit enquiries, and use our client portal without barriers.

We are committed to meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which is the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility. WCAG 2.1 AA is the benchmark referenced by the UK Equality Act 2010, the EU Web Accessibility Directive, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in the United States, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) in Canada, and the Disability Discrimination Act in Australia.

We acknowledge that our website has not yet undergone a full formal accessibility audit. This statement reflects our current understanding of our site’s accessibility status, our commitment to improvement, and the steps we are actively taking. We will update this statement as we make progress.

2. What WCAG 2.1 AA Means

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 are organised around four core principles. Any website that meets Level AA compliance must be:

  • Perceivable — Information and user interface components must be presented in ways that all users can perceive. This includes providing text alternatives for non-text content (such as images), captions for video, and ensuring content can be presented in different ways without losing meaning.
  • Operable — All user interface components and navigation must be operable by all users. This includes ensuring full keyboard accessibility, giving users enough time to read and use content, and not designing content in ways that could cause seizures or physical reactions.
  • Understandable — Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable. This means making text readable and understandable, making pages appear and operate in predictable ways, and helping users avoid and correct mistakes.
  • Robust — Content must be robust enough that it can be reliably interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies such as screen readers, braille displays, and voice control software.

Level AA is the target standard because it addresses the most significant accessibility barriers for the widest range of users without requiring changes that are disproportionately difficult to implement.

3. Current Accessibility Status

We are honest that our website has not yet been formally audited against WCAG 2.1 AA. The table below reflects our current best assessment of accessibility across the key areas of our website. We are committed to conducting a full audit and addressing identified issues.

4. Known Limitations & Areas We Are Improving

Based on our current self-assessment, the following are the areas we have identified as priorities for improvement. We are committed to addressing these in a structured and timely manner:

4.1 Image Alt Text

Not all images across our website and blog currently have descriptive alternative text (alt text). Alt text is essential for users who rely on screen readers, as it provides a verbal description of visual content. We are in the process of reviewing and updating all images to ensure meaningful alt text is applied consistently. New images published after the date of this statement will include appropriate alt text as standard.

4.2 Heading Structure

Consistent and logical heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) is important for screen reader users who navigate pages by heading. We are auditing our existing pages and blog content to ensure headings are used correctly and in the right order, rather than for visual styling purposes only.

4.3 Colour Contrast

We have not yet formally verified that all text and background colour combinations on our website meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. This is a priority in our upcoming audit. If you are currently experiencing difficulty reading any text due to contrast, please contact us and we will provide the content in an alternative format.

4.4 Contact Form Accessibility

We are reviewing our contact form to ensure all input fields have visible, programmatically associated labels, that error messages are clearly described and accessible to screen readers, and that the form can be completed entirely using a keyboard without a mouse.

4.5 Client Portal

Our client portal has not yet been tested with assistive technologies such as screen readers or keyboard-only navigation. We are committed to testing the portal and addressing any identified issues to ensure all registered clients can access their account and communications without barriers.

4.6 Third-Party Tools

Some features of our website are powered by third-party tools, including our live chat system. The accessibility of these tools depends in part on the third-party provider’s own compliance efforts, which are outside our direct control. We will engage with our providers on accessibility matters and consider switching to more accessible alternatives if compliance cannot be confirmed.

5. Our Accessibility Improvement Plan

We are taking the following concrete steps to improve accessibility across our website:

  • Step 1 — Accessibility Audit (Target: within 3 months of this statement): We will conduct a full WCAG 2.1 AA audit of all key pages of our website, including the homepage, service pages, blog, contact page, and client portal. This audit will be carried out using a combination of automated tools (such as WAVE or Axe) and manual testing, including testing with a screen reader.
  • Step 2 — Image Alt Text Review (Target: within 6 weeks): We will review all existing images across the website and client portal and add or improve alt text descriptions. All newly published images will include alt text as a mandatory step in our content workflow.
  • Step 3 — Heading Hierarchy Correction (Target: within 2 months): We will audit and correct the heading structure across all existing pages and blog posts to ensure a logical, sequential hierarchy that supports screen reader navigation.
  • Step 4 — Colour Contrast Review (Target: within 3 months): We will check all text and interactive element colour combinations against WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios and update any that fall below the required standard.
  • Step 5 — Form & Portal Testing (Target: within 4 months): We will test our contact form and client portal with assistive technologies, including a screen reader and keyboard-only navigation, and address any issues identified.
  • Step 6 — Ongoing Monitoring: Following the initial audit and remediation, we will re-test our website whenever significant changes are made and conduct a full review at least once per year. We will update this Accessibility Statement to reflect our progress.

6. Assistive Technologies We Aim to Support

Once our audit and remediation work is complete, our website aims to be compatible with the following assistive technologies, which represent the tools most commonly used by people with disabilities:

  • Screen readers — including NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), VoiceOver (Apple macOS and iOS), and TalkBack (Android).
  • Keyboard-only navigation — all functionality should be accessible without requiring a mouse or trackpad.
  • Browser zoom — users should be able to increase text size up to 200% without content becoming unusable or text overlapping.
  • Voice control software — including Dragon NaturallySpeaking and Voice Control on Apple devices.
  • High contrast mode — content should remain readable when operating system high contrast settings are enabled.
  • Screen magnification software — content should remain functional and readable when magnified.

We aim for our website to function correctly on the most recent versions of major browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge, across both desktop and mobile devices.

7. How to Access Our Content in an Alternative Format

If you need any information from our website — including service descriptions, blog posts, terms and conditions, privacy or cookie policies — in an alternative format that is more accessible for you, we are happy to help. We can provide content in the following alternative formats on request:

  • Plain text version — content provided as a simple, unformatted text document without images or complex layout.
  • Larger print version — document formatted with increased font size for easier reading.
  • PDF with accessibility features — where possible, we can provide content as a tagged, accessible PDF.
  • Audio description — for important content, we can arrange for a verbal summary to be provided via email or phone call.

To request content in an alternative format, please contact us at asseoo.com@gmail.com, describe the content you need and your preferred format, and we will respond within five (5) business days.

8. Reporting an Accessibility Issue

We want to hear from you if you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website. Your feedback directly helps us identify and fix issues we may not be aware of. If you experience any difficulty accessing any part of our website or client portal, please tell us:

  • What page or area of the website you were trying to access.
  • What you were trying to do — for example, read a service page, submit the contact form, or log in to the portal.
  • What happened and what you expected to happen instead.
  • The device, browser, and any assistive technology you were using (if known).

You can report accessibility issues by emailing us at asseoo.com@gmail.com with the subject line ‘Accessibility Issue’. We aim to acknowledge all accessibility reports within two (2) business days and to provide a substantive response — including any workaround or resolution — within ten (10) business days.

9. Enforcement & Formal Complaints

If you have reported an accessibility issue to us and are not satisfied with our response, or if you feel we have not addressed your concern adequately, you have the right to escalate your complaint to the relevant enforcement body in your jurisdiction:

United Kingdom

The Equality Act 2010 requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. If you believe we have failed to meet this obligation, you may contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) at https://www.equalityhumanrights.com or seek advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau at https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk.

European Union

The EU Web Accessibility Directive (Directive 2016/2102) establishes accessibility requirements for digital services. Enforcement is handled by each EU member state’s designated enforcement body. Please contact your national enforcement authority if you believe your rights have not been respected.

United States

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in places of public accommodation, which courts have increasingly applied to websites. If you believe our website fails to meet your rights under the ADA, you may contact the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at https://www.justice.gov/crt or seek independent legal advice.

Canada

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requires organisations to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA for websites. If you are an Ontario resident and believe our website does not comply, you may contact the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario at https://www.ontario.ca/page/accessibility-in-ontario.

Australia

The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) prohibits discrimination in the provision of services on the basis of disability. The Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) handles complaints under the DDA. You may contact the AHRC at https://humanrights.gov.au if you believe your rights have not been met.

10. Technical Specifications

Our website relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1. Conformance to these standards depends on these technologies being fully supported and enabled in your browser and any assistive technology you use:

  • HTML5 — the standard markup language used to structure our web pages.
  • CSS3 — used for visual styling and layout of our website.
  • JavaScript — used for interactive features and dynamic content loading.
  • ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes — used where native HTML does not provide sufficient accessibility information for assistive technologies.

We recommend using an up-to-date version of your preferred browser and keeping your assistive technology software updated to ensure the best possible experience on our website.

11. Updates to This Statement

This Accessibility Statement is reviewed and updated whenever we make significant changes to our website or when we complete a stage of our accessibility improvement plan. The date at the top of this page reflects when the statement was last updated. We are committed to providing transparent, honest updates on our accessibility progress rather than making claims we cannot yet substantiate.

As we complete our planned accessibility audit and remediation work, we will update this statement to reflect our verified compliance status. Our goal is to reach full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance across our entire website and client portal within twelve (12) months of this statement’s effective date.
